ArangoDB is a highly complex system and has to run smoothly on a variety of operating and orchestration systems. As DevOps Engineer (m/f) you help the Development Teams to build and test more easily and find better ways to run our multi-model database on premise, in the cloud or on modern orchestration systems like Kubernetes. As a part of our growing team, you will work on the core of ArangoDB in the heart of Cologne (Köln Zentrum, Zülpicher Platz). Our headquarter ArangoDB Inc. is in San Francisco (US) and our diverse team includes workmates at remote locations worldwide.

About the Role

  • Keep our development team running smoothly by supporting our Continuous Integration environment and monitor, provision, troubleshoot and improve the internal build systems
  • Take ownership of the Continuous Delivery pipeline and optimize the integration of ArangoDB into Debian, Red-Hat, Docker, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes
  • Work closely with our teams to identify and meet their build, test, SCM, and other tool needs
  • Drive continuous improvement by creating and updating tests and performance analysis
  • You can automate as much as your heart desires

Your Skills

  • Working knowledge with modern CI/CD systems and version control like Jenkins, Git
  • Deployment experience with various infrastructures like Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes and AWS
  • You feel at home in Linux, OSX and Windows universe
  • Experience with Linux bash/shell and DOS/Windows batch scripting languages
  • Able to prioritize your tasks in a fast-moving environment
  • Remaining calm in pressure situations and adapt quickly to change
  • A proactive nature; continuously looking at how to improve our processes and tools
  • Finally, you have strong problem solving and technical communication skills
