ArangoDB is an open-source, highly scalable Graph Database with multi-model capabilities. In addition to Graph, it is natively supporting a number of data models, including document and key-value, as well as full-text search and retrieval. It serves as the scalable backbone for Graph Analytics and complex data architectures across many different industries. Developers can build high-performance applications using a convenient SQL-like query language or JavaScript extensions. Oh, and did we mention it is open source?

To ensure we keep hitting our product quality goals with a growing team and product range, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with experience in test automation to develop test strategies, draw up and execute test plans, help automate testing further.

Our headquarter is in San Francisco (US), we have an office in Cologne (Germany), but most of our diverse team works remotely worldwide. Since most of the Engineering and QA team members are working from Central and Eastern Europe, candidates in this location & time zone are preferred. Your Role:

  • You create and organize effective test CI and resources (hardware, software, cloud, etc.) to ensure software quality for the ArangoDB product range
  • You create and execute complex testing scenarios with sophisticated data and environments
  • You actively collaborate with the Engineering teams and Product Management in improving the processes and overall product quality

Your Skills:

  • You have multiple years of experience in software testing, IT administration, database deployment and exploitations, and DevOps
  • You have strong knowledge of *nix and Windows administration, QA methodologies along with platform tools
  • You are skilled in at least one scripting (bash, zsh, PowerShell e.g.) and programming language (JavaScript, Python, Go e.g.)
  • You are familiar with source management tools and services (GitHub, GitLab, git, SVN, etc.)
  • You bring CI knowledge to the table (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)
  • You have advanced written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of product management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • And ideally a good understanding of distributed systems, databases, or infrastructure products
